Connections / MCP
Your Enterall workspace
in your assistant.
Find your boards, work with documents, organize references, and develop images on your canvas from ChatGPT, Codex, or Claude.
MCP (Model Context Protocol) lets a compatible AI assistant use Enterall’s tools with your permission. You need an Enterall account and a client that supports remote MCP with OAuth.
Copy a setup prompt, then paste it into your agent to get connected.
Connect your account
- Server URL
https://mcp.enterall.co/mcp- Connection
- Streamable HTTP · OAuth · Name: Enterall
- Open your assistant’s connector or MCP settings and add a remote connection named Enterall.
- Paste the server URL above. Choose Streamable HTTP if your client asks for a transport.
- Choose OAuth or the client’s sign-in option. Sign in on Enterall and review the requested permissions before allowing the connection.
- Return to your assistant and check that Enterall’s tools are available. Start with “Find my Enterall boards,” then select a board before requesting changes.
Remote MCP availability depends on your client, plan, and organization settings. You can use a direct connection while directory listings are being prepared.
Codex & ChatGPT
Add a Streamable HTTP connection, then authenticate with Enterall. The web app’s settings may look different.
Claude
Add Enterall in Settings → Connectors and choose OAuth. Complete sign-in and check that Enterall’s tools are available.
What you can do
Available tools depend on the permissions you grant and your access to each board. Ask your assistant what Enterall tools it has available.
| Area | Capabilities |
|---|---|
| Find and read | List and search boards, find images and documents, read board content and history, and capture visual board views. |
| Boards and canvas | Create private boards, rename boards, add text and images, create frames, move and resize shapes, group content, apply layouts, delete shapes, and restore board versions. |
| Documents | Create documents, prepare generation or rewrite plans, and apply document plans. |
| Design workflows | Analyze boards, discuss board content, save and read brand profiles, render brand basics posters, and generate or edit images placed on the canvas. |
| Collaboration | List board collaborators, grant board access when permitted, and add comments to board shapes. |
| AI actions | Check the status of supported AI actions and cancel them while cancellation is still available. |
The server also provides MCP prompts and resources for supported workflows. Clients differ in how they expose these; connecting a server does not automatically install local skill files.
Try it with your work
Use your board’s actual name in place of the examples below. Start with a read request to confirm that the connection works.
Find a project
“Find my Enterall boards about the autumn collection and summarize the references on the board I choose.”
Organize references
“On my Campaign references board, group the images by theme and arrange them into labeled frames. Keep all existing images.”
Develop a document
“Create a creative brief document on this board using its references. Show me the proposed content before applying it.”
Explore a design direction
“Using this board’s references, generate one image exploring a warmer color palette and place it beside the originals.”
Requests that change content, grant access, or use image credits can have lasting effects. Review the target board and any approval request before proceeding.
Permissions and control
Sign-in happens through Enterall using OAuth. Your assistant receives an authorization token for the connection; you do not give it your Enterall password. Review the permissions on the consent screen.
- Reading: a connected client can request content from boards and documents your account is allowed to access, within the permissions you granted.
- Changes: write permissions allow supported operations to create, update, or remove content. Sharing operations can grant another person access to a board.
- Approvals: your client may ask before running tools. Some Enterall operations also require a separate confirmation. Approval behavior depends on the operation and your client’s settings.
- Disconnecting: revoke the connection in Enterall Settings → Connected apps to stop future access. Removing the connector in your assistant is separate from revoking its Enterall authorization.
Connecting does not give the assistant more access than your Enterall account has. Existing board access rules and account limits still apply.
How data is handled
Your assistant sends tool requests to Enterall, and Enterall returns the requested content or operation result. Depending on the tool, this can include board content, document text, images, comments, and collaborator information.
When you use Enterall’s AI features, relevant text and images are sent to the AI providers needed to fulfill the request. Enterall processes connection identity, permissions, expiry, authentication records, and operational records to provide and secure the service.
Your assistant provider’s own policies govern how it handles data it receives. Revoking a connection stops future access; it does not delete content the client already received.
See our Privacy Policy for providers, storage, retention, and deletion requests, and Security and data for organizational review.
Accounts and image credits
A free Enterall account is required. Connecting and using board, canvas, document, and collaboration tools is free. Image generation and editing use your existing Enterall credits, including similar-image generation.
Connecting does not buy credits or start a paid subscription. Your assistant provider may have its own plan requirements or usage limits. See Enterall plans and credits for pricing.
Troubleshooting
The connector is added, but tools are missing
Complete the OAuth sign-in; adding the URL alone does not authorize access. Refresh the client’s tool list or reopen the conversation. Check that the Enterall connector is enabled for that conversation and allowed by your organization.
Authorization expired or a permission is missing
Use your client’s reconnect or sign-in option and review the requested Enterall permissions. Confirm that you signed in to the intended Enterall account.
A board or document cannot be accessed
Check that the content is accessible in Enterall using the same account. Ask your assistant to list your boards again and select the correct one. A connection cannot override board access rules.
A change reports a version conflict
The board may have changed since it was read. Ask your assistant to read the latest board state and prepare the change again. Review any new confirmation before applying it.
An image operation cannot run
Check your Enterall credit balance and the error returned by the tool. For an action that is still running, ask your assistant to check its status before starting another request.
The server cannot be reached
Confirm that the URL is exactly https://mcp.enterall.co/mcp and that your client supports remote Streamable HTTP connections. If the error mentions DNS resolution, check your network or try again after DNS changes have propagated.
Still stuck? Contact support with your client’s name, the operation, and the error message. Do not include passwords or authorization tokens.
